Shift Selection or Bidding
Most schedule intensive businesses have the need to complete a Shift Selection or Bid process periodically in order to ensure they have the best possible schedule mix according to their workload. This process can be one of the most challenging of all when considering the complexity of creating the schedules, arriving at an equitable selection order criteria, allowing your staff to view the available schedules (and even review them with those people who are most important in their lives), and finally completing the selection/award process.
eResourcePlanner has two separate solutions to help with this dilemma.
Interest Based Selection or Bid
eResourcePlanner allows you to create a set of schedules, post them to specific skill or department groups (even across several locations or time zones simultaneously), and permit staff to enter choices in rank order based on their preferences. You can post the schedules for a particular date and time range allowing everyone to register or modify their interest. At the "Close" of the process, eResourcePlanner will take all selections entered, order them according to whatever criteria you wish, and automatically award the schedules based on that criteria. It will then notify the participants of their award and can include a reminder that their current schedule remains in effect until a particular date.
Standard Selection or Bid
In addition to the Interest Based process where users can put choices and wait to hear the outcome, eResourcePlanner offers a Standard selection or bid process that allows you to process bids and selections real time. The schedules are presented to the users in an easy to read format, they are notified of where they are in the process, they are notified when they are "on deck", when it is their turn and finally they receive a confirmation e-mail when complete.
